The death of Charles Joseph Bird occurred at Lashburn hospital about January 9th. He contracted flu which later developed into pneumonia.
Mr. Bird was 52 years of age and came from Basingstoke, England, to Pincher Creek in 1902 and lived in the district for a number of years. Here he made quite a number of friends., later moving to Lashburn district, where he was engaged in farming.
He is survived by Mrs. Bird, and three sons and two daughters. He also leaves to mourn two sisters, Mrs. William Saunders of Marshall, Saskatchewan, and Miss Alice Bird of Lashburn; also two brothers, Sydney of Ponoka, Alberta, and Reginald of Pincher Creek, Alberta, to all of whom our deepest sympathy is extended.
