Leo G. Weeden, age 88, of Richland Center died Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Muscoda. He was born on March 21, 1926, the son of Linfred and Hazel (Hilleshiem) Weeden. Leo graduated from Richland Center High School in 1944. He joined the United States Navy in 1944 and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. On September 14, 1947, he married Geneva Fazel at her parents' home in Marshall Township. Together they farmed from 1953 – 1970. Leo was a jack-of-all-trades and was proud of being a self-made man. He loved good conversation, good food, and a good Green Bay Packer game.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Weeden, of Richland Center, WI; 4 children: Louise Sutton of Madison, WI; Lois (Tom) Argall of Muscoda, WI; Robert (Kris) Weeden of Richland Center, WI; Lori (Steve Kiessling) Monahan-Kiessling of Canton, GA; 8 grandchildren: Kari (Tim) Haak of Oconomowoc, WI; Tami (James) Wilson of Hendersonville, TN; Martina Steger of Mineral Point, WI; Nadia Steger of North Las Vegas, NV; Janna (Dan) Drier of Richland Center, WI; Steven (Ciji) Weeden of Richland Center, WI; Rachel and Sarah Monahan both of Canton, GA; a step-granddaughter, Angela Argall of Madison, WI; 5 great-grandchildren: Megan Haak, Liesl Wilson, Owen and Evan Drier, Brielle Weeden; sister-in-law, Edythe Weeden of Beloit, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Lyle, Loren, and Leland Weeden; a sister, Galena Lange; 2 nephews, Renald and Julian Lange.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center with Pastor Ed Jones officiating. The Local Military's Honors Unit will provide military graveside rites in the Richland Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and also on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM.
