Chesterfield, VA – Elizabeth Anne Whitaker McCracken, passed away March 14, 2015. She was born in Winston-Salem on May 16, 1938 to Odell Manus and Margaret Elizabeth Weatherman Whitaker. She was married on December 30, 1961 to Jerry Franklin McCracken, who survives. She was an avid genealogist and family historian and a member of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, National Genealogical Society, N.C. Genealogical Society, Surry County Genealogical Society and the Yadkin County Genealogical Society. Also surviving are a daughter, Julia Elizabeth McCracker of Raleigh, N.C.; brothers, Thomas Whitaker of Yadkinville and James Whitaker of Clemmons; sister, Kathy Johnson of Winston-Salem; nephews, Shane Whitaker of East Bend, Keith Whitaker of Morganton; niece, Renae Whitaker of Yadkinville. Her graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Center Memorial Cemetery in Yadkinville.
