Gordon served as a Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Sagadahoc County, Maine prior to the war.

After graduating from MIT, he met and married Bernice Griffin. They were living in Connecticut when there daughter Virginia Parks was born in 1937.

They later moved to Bath, Maine, Brooklyn, New York, and then to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Gordon was shipped overseas in 1941/2 and served in Brisbane, Australia.

He died of a heart attack there in his office on October 8, 1943.

Gordon died of a heart attack while working in his office in Brisbane during the war.
