Now the Conjecture:
It has been widely reported that Peter married Frances Franny PRATT in Orange Co., Virginia. If he was born in 1803, he would have been 16 when his first child was born. Five of Peter Sr’s children were born in Virginia, one in Maryland, and two in Ohio. We also know from Lucy’s obit that her mother Francis died about 1836-1837. We also have records of a Peter CREAGER born 1890 marrying women in the Kentucky area. These women include Johanna UTZ CLORE 20 Aug 1852 in Boone Co, KY, and Julia WORRELL abt 1854. Also a child Merica born 20 June 1855, Boone Co. KY, mother Julia WORRELL.
All of the Peter Sr’s children reported on the Census their father was born in Maryland, not GERMANY (except John who had Virginia listed).
It has also been reported that the above Peter Sr was a son of Phillip and Barbara of Casper CREAGER linage(Find A Grave Memorial# 90764573). The trouble is, he was born in 1790, not 1803. Also Peter’s wife Francis from the Bible has been listed as being born anywhere from 1791 to 1804. All the records I have found from a Peter Creager living in Clermont County Ohio around that time period say he was born around 1790.
The Peter CREAGER (1790-1881) was a plasterer and brick layer during his life.
Both Peter Jr. (1830-1913) and his brothers David (1825- unknown) and John G. Warren CREAGER (1822- abt 1910) were also plasterers during their life and at least one was also a brick layer.
We could have a lot of coincidence. We did see some of Peter’s children living near each other at one time or another. Mostly in Boone Co, KY, Saline Co, and Red Willow Co, Nebraska, Crawford Co, Kansas, Schuyler Co, IL, and Johnson Co, IA.
If anyone has any information we can add to the mix to get this sorted out, please contact me. Thank you.
