Alvin C. Anstett, 84 of Markle passed away at 2:30 am on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center. Alvin was a 1949 graduate of Earl Park High School. He had worked as a truck driver for over 33 years, most recently with DTF, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed gardening, motorcycle trips and working on John Deere tractors.

Alvin was born on February 22, 1931 in Fowler, Indiana the son of Ervin T. and Lorene E. (Matthew) Anstett.

He was united in marriage to Frances Estes on June 9, 1951. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2012.

Additional survivors include two sons: Glen (Pamela) Anstett of Uniondale; Michael (Jeanette) Anstett of Ossian; a daughter: Nancy (Robert) Caley of Falcon, CO; two sisters: Darlene A. McCollough of Ocala, FL; Norma J. Gardner of Trenton, FL; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son: Larry Anstett.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Father Dale Bauman officiating.

Interment will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Roanoke.

Memorial donations can be made out to American Diabetes Association in care of Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 403, Markle, IN 46770.
