KENNETH C. "KENNY" SPILLERS, 86, went to the big "Race Track" in the sky Wednesday, March 11, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. Born March 18, 1928, in Fort Wayne, he was an avid racer his entire life. He was a championship race car owner and champion motorcycle drag racer. Kenny was a member of the Indiana Square Dance Association. He was inducted into the Avilla Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1992. He is survived by daughters, Patti Carlin, Judy Moore and Ronda (Michael) Stewart, all of Fort Wayne; son, K.C. Spillers Jr. of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren, Michelle Spillers, Dawn Behny, Ryan (Lindsey) Spillers, Danielle Stewart (fiancé, Jason Ridenour), Tyler Spillers, all of Fort Wayne, and Tara Bills of Sarasota, FL; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter with another on the way; sister, Betty Wier of Indianapolis; and brother, Robert of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Phyllis M. (Hullinger) Spillers, in 1993; son, Ronald L. Spillers, in 2014; and granddaughter, Jil Miller of New Haven, in 2005. Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, with visitation one hour prior at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
