Frey Sr., Ronald 'Ron' Lewis 83 June 22, 1931 Mar. 08, 2015 Ronald "Ron" Lewis Frey Sr., of Oregon City, passed away March 08, 2015, surrounded by his children at home. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Oregon City Evangelical Church, 1024 Linn Ave., Oregon City, OR 97045. Longtime family friend, Kevin Moore, will be officiating. A committal will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City. A viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015, at Holman- Hankins-Bowker & Waud. Mem- orials may be made to the Portland Sunshine Division. Ron was born June 22, 1931, in his grandmother's home in Oregon City, to Etta and John Frey. He attended Oregon City schools until he moved to Seaside with his mother and stepfather, Clarence Harvey. He joined the U.S. Army in 1950, and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, serving during the Korean War. Ron married Shirley Ann Lauber in December of 1953. Together they had six of his seven children. He married Jane K. Beck in 1964, together they had his youngest son. Ron married Sonja Moyer in 1979. Ron joined the Stayton Oregon Police Department in 1958. Later, he was hired by the Portland Police Department, where he stayed until retiring in June of 1985. Together with his son, Ron Frey Jr., they started Frey International, a car leasing business. He was also a real estate agent with Main Properties in Oregon City. Ron is survived by his children, Cheryl Lynn Howell (Robert), Beverly Ann Doolittle, John Edward Frey, Darlene Marie Paulson, Judy Lee Siri (Gary), Susan Renee Lemire and Ronald Lewis Frey Jr. (Renae); stepchildren, Deborah Galigani, Denise Moyer, Wendy Moyer and Cindy Michaels; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his third wife, Sonja in 2000; companion of six years, Irene Maxwell in 2007; and parents, Etta Harvey in 1985 and John Frey in 1990. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling across the U.S. on his motorcycle, making weekly visits to the Woodburn Auction and indulging in one of his greatest passions, buying and selling cars. He lived a full life and was loved deeply by his family and friends.
