FLORENCE, SC - Kevin Douglas Churchill, 57, of Florence, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Churchill was born in Cortland, NY, a son of Barbara Jean Coomber Churchill and the late Robert Douglas Churchill. He was once married and divorced from Mitzi Marie Gore, daughter of Bob and Mary Gore, of Florence, who was the mother of his daughter, Jennifer.
He was a member of Central United Methodist Church of Florence, SC, and loved sailing. He once lived on a houseboat in Clearwater, FL, for five years before moving to Florence, SC, in the 1980s.
Surviving are his daughter, Jennifer Marie (Billy Bernier) Churchill of Florence; his mother of Spring Hill, FL; his sisters, Debra (Larry) Britton of Douglas, Georgia and Susan (Bill) Reinau of Spring Hill, FL, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Greenpeace at www.greenpeace.org. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will follow in the cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
