German Nobilty. Born the youngest daughter of Johann Georg II von Anhalt-Desssau and his wife Henriette Katharina von Oranien. In 1699 she married Margrave Philipp Wilhelm von Brandenburg-Schwedt. They mostly lived in Schwedt and Johanna only returned to Berlin after her husbands death. In 1729 she was elected princess abbess of Herford Abbey. She held this post until her death.
