Jelan Aaron Kahlil Whitten-Strother, 8, was born on Friday, June 30, 2006 at 4:51a.m. to parents Wesley Strother and Jacinda Whitten at Parkview Hospital-Main. Jelan's family was blessed with almost 9 years with Jelan, before he passed away at 5:13am, Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at St.Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne. Jelan was a second grader at Weisser Park Elementary School. Jelan had a vivid imagination and his favorite hobby was to play with his Legos. He experienced life with a smile and a sense of adventure, he enjoyed hugs and kisses from his family, and being told "I love you" an uncountable amount of times.
Jelan is deeply loved by his mommy and daddy, younger brother Jezir, his grandparents, his great-grandparents, his aunts and uncles, his cousin and many others. Jelan will always remain his parents' precious baby and Jezir's big brother, and they will hold him again in heaven one day. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30am, Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with calling two hours prior, Msgr. Robert C. Schulte officiating.
