Bob Douglas was a fiddler whose career began as an accompanist to his father Tom.

For many years he appeared daily on Chattanooga radio as well as on WSB in Atlanta in the early 1930s. He recorded for Victor Records with the Allen Brothers in 1928. In 1942 he hired and recorded with the Louvin Brothers, giving them their first opportunity to record. In 1975 he won the Smithsonian Institution's National Fiddle Contest.

At age 99 he appeared on Prairie Home Companion and at age 100 on the Grand Ole Opry. (Extracted from The Old-Time Herald, Fall 2001)
