Aged woman, Victim of Fire, Could Not survive the shock of the ordeal.

Mrs. Sarah A. Emerson, who was brought to Burlington hospital last Thursday evening suffering with severe burns passed away this morning at 7 o clock. Owing to her advanced age and the extent of her injuries, recovery was impossible and the unfortunate woman died after lingering for several days, during which her sufferings were intense.

The accident occured last Friday afternoon. Mrs. Emerson was living with her son, David Emerson, north of the city and was alone in the house at the time. In some manner her clothing took fire from sparks from the stove and she was enveloped in flames. Her cries brought assistance but too late to prevent severe injury.

The Deceased was born in Cincinnati on Feb 10 1829 and had been a resident of this county for a long term of years. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-David H. Emerson of this county, Charles of Garfo, N.D. and Mrs Ida Moyers of New Boston.
