Mr. Akin, an independent oil operator, died Monday Dec. 27, 1982 at Doctors Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Norman, Okla. and had been a resident of Shreveport for 38 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Darla Akin of Shreveport, sons, Ralph H. Akin, Jr. and Richard L. Akin, of Houston, Tex.; sister, Verma Langley of Drumright, Okla.; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
