Mainwood, Jr., and Irene McMillan Mainwood, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended Gordon Military College before transferring to the Florida State University and earning undergraduate and Ed.D. degrees in counselor education and educational leadership. His career in counseling, youth services and vocational rehabilitation included positions with the Florida Departments of Education and Juvenile Justice, Wakulla High School, and Goodwill Industries. The discipline and patriotism he learned as an Eagle Scout and in the military never left him. He had an abiding faith in God's love. Mowitz (Meredith) of Gainesville and Kyle A. Mowitz of Ft. Lauderdale, and several cousins. He will be greatly missed by Raegan and Gracie, his four-legged companions who brought him a great deal of joy and guarded him constantly for the past nine years.
