In 1958, Roger met Judy Pipkin and in 1960, the couple married. Together, they had one daughter, Terry. In 1963, Roger went to work for Colmac Industries, and after 27 years of employment, he retired in 1990.
In his spare time, Roger enjoyed tennis, bowling, golfing, fishing, hunting, and watching every sport imaginable on television, including the Kentucky Derby. He also enjoyed family barbecues, and spending time outdoors. Roger had a wonderful sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Roger was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Rosa and Arthur Richards. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy, Colville, WA; daughter Terry Americk, Colville, WA; aunt and uncle Marie and Russ Clemons; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A memorial service and ash committal for Mr. Americk will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville. If one so wishes, memorial contributions may be made in Roger’s name to the Colville food Bank.
