The services were conducted at 5:30 p. m. by the Rev. Dr. M. M. Kinard pastor of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church. The body was then taken to Elmwood Cemetery where the interment took place.
During the funeral the city hall bell was tolled in honor of the deceased young fireman.
The Richland Volunteers also attended the funeral, the young man having been a devoted member of that organization.
The pallbearers were August Hoefer, Charles J. Lynch, W. M. Morton, L. E. Marshall, W. V. Myers, Cliff Reckling, A. Stork, Jr. and John Sloane.
