Arthur Alturo Galolo Abelaye was born on January 22, 1947 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He passed away peacefully in his home in Sacramento, California on February 16, 2015. He was 68 years old.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Maria "Cora" Abelaye, his five children -- Michelle, Anthony, Andre, Elaine, and Evelyn -- and three loving grandchildren, Sara, Kiana, and Alan.

In his early years, Arthur was the drummer for the Waikiki-based band, The Casuals, with whom he recorded a number of local hits. He met and married his first wife, Marie Quintana, in 1966 and fathered three children -- Michelle, Anthony, and Andre.

He relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1966 and worked as a machinist at Hunter's Point Naval Shipyard. Throughout the 1970's and 1980's, he made his home in Newark, California and worked at various companies as a mechanical inspector, including Atari and Frieden Alcatel.

In 1981, he married Cora Cancicio and fathered two daughters, Elaine and Evelyn.

In 1995, he moved his family to Sacramento, California, where he would spend the remainder of his life. It was in Sacramento with Cora and their two daughters, Elaine and Evelyn, that he found the peace and happiness he was looking for. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Alan, and working on various projects around the house, many of which involved the use of his favorite power tool, his trusty chainsaw.

Arthur ("Toto" to his friends and family) was a musician, an avid bowler, and loved watching TV. Possessed with a dry sense of humor and the ability to make people laugh, Arthur befriended people from all walks of life. He was forgiving and compassionate, and never held a grudge.

A viewing will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park & Mortuary 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove, CA 95624. Rosary held at 6PM.
