Margaret Stewart Brooks, 77, died June 11 at Bulloch Memorial Hospital. She was retired from the Globe Shoe Co. as handbag department manager. She was a former member of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Savannah. She later joined New Hope Methodist Church. She was born in Statesboro.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Charles Brooks of Statesboro; two daughters, Dale Brown of Atlanta, and Nancy Roberts of Pikeville, Kent.; four grandchildren, Toni Myers of Tallahassee, Fla., James Wright III of Atlanta, Celina Howell of Pikeville, Keith Exley of Lexington, Kent.; and a great grandson, Alexander Exley of Lexington.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Monday at Jake A. Futch Funeral Home, burial, 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Savannah. -Savannah Now, June 1999
