Mrs. William Notestine of Bear Creek Township was born the daughter if Dr. and Mrs. Phillip Ballard. She married William Notestine at Napoleon, Ohio, and then around the year 1894, she and husband came to Northern Michigan and settled on their farm southeast of Petoskey. Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Mrs. E. A, Coping, Aurora, Ill; Mrs. Otto Falk, Petoskey; Mrs. Guy Reid, Toledo and four sons, Robert Notestine, Bear Creek, Lot Notestine, of Petoskey, and William Notestine, Jr., and Phillip Notestine, who reisde at home. Two brothers also survived: Frank Ballard, Ohio; and Monroe Ballard, Gladwin; and two sisters, Mrs. M. J. Wescott, and Mrs. James May, of Ohio.
