Max was a very likeable man, a cowboy who was a hard worker on his farm. He was born and raised in a small Texas town. He met and married Beverly Mac Butler, they had three children John Butler Alexander, Lauralyn Mac Alexander and Rodney Max Alexander. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Trenton Texas.

Max had a hard life first losing his wife to breast cancer. He later lost both of his parents to an auto accident. Max lost his own life to an auto accident a few years later.
