Casualty of the Great War,William was a Second Lieutenant with the 8th Bn. The South Wales Borderers.
He was 24 and the son of Ritson Lightfoot [police constable] and Mary Jane Lightfoot [nee Greenwood] of Liverpool, Lancashire.

Deaths Mar 1921 Lightfoot William R 24 Ringwood 2b 962

He was accepted for commemoration as war dead on 12th February 2015 and his name was immediately added to the United Kingdom Book of Remembrance.
