Marvin Louis Scott Sr. was born in Newbern, TN. on March 29, 1944 to the late Robert Lee and Wilma Lee (Greer) Scott. He departed this life on February 9, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

In 1963, he graduated from Central High School in Newbern. He served in the United States Army and was granted an Honorable Discharge in 1970.

M.L., as he was called by many, was a truck driver for Ranger Company for over 15 years. In 2006, Marvin retired from Dana Corp. as a machine technician after 17 years of service. Marvin was a faithful member of the East Chestnut Church of Christ and was also a member of the gospel Quartet, The Singing Doves. He was married to Cynthia Gillard on June 24, 1989.

He leaves behind to treasure his memories, his wife Cynthia Scott, children, 5 daughters, Gwen (Dimitri) McFadden, of Anderson, IN; Rena Scott, Teresa Scott; Shanell Sewell and Eboney Gillard all of Fort Wayne; 5 sons, Charles Scott; Dalaun Seavers, Marvin Scott, Jr.; LaRon (Carrie) Gillard; all of Fort Wayne, and Marvin(Michelle) Buford of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Margaret (Cameron) Brewer of Paducah, Ky., and two brothers, Robert (Minnie) Scott, Jr. and Billy (Cheryl) Scott both of Fort Wayne.; one aunt, Verlean Lane of Elkhart, IN., 29 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Esther Lee Stewart and brother, R. L. Scott.

Entombment took place in the Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, IN.
