Charlton
Edward W. Gauthier, 79, died February 9th, Monday, at Harrington Memorial Hospital.
He leaves his loving wife of nearly 61 years Catherine "Carole" C. (Shippee) Gauthier. They were married May 1, 1954. He leaves 4 sons Raymond Gauthier and his wife Virginia of Southbridge, Joseph Gauthier of Oxford, Richard Gauthier and his wife Jane of Southbridge, and Jon T. Gauthier of Charlton. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, a brother Armand and his wife Joan Gauthier of Port Orange, FL and a sister Estelle Mogavero of Sturbridge.
He was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Church in Charlton. Mr. Gauthier was employed by the Town of Charlton working for the DPW for many years, he was part-time EMT, and firefighter for the Town of Charlton, and he was most proud to be the Hazardous Waste Commissioner for 20 years for Charlton. He also once owned "Auto Repair" in Charlton, and also served as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Town of Southbridge for several years. He loved spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14th, at Sansoucy Funeral Home 40 Marcy Street Southbridge. Calling hours will be from 1-3PM Saturday with a prayer service at 1:15pm, Burial will be private.
Burial was on June 12, 2015.
