Virga Pauline DeRossett was born March 31, 1934 to Robert and Pearl Lindsay. She was born in Tennessee and raised in the hills of Kentucky and Virginia along with her two sisters and two brothers. Virga’s mother taught her about the Lord and took her to church. Virga gave her heart to the Lord at a very young age. Her daddy always said, the bullfrogs new her by name because she’d been baptized so many times. At the young age of 17 she married her sweetheart Harvey Samuel DeRossett. In May of 1953, Virga and Sam welcomed their first child, a daughter, Vicky Sue. Vicky was her pride and joy, her little princess. In August of 1956, Virga gave birth to her second child, David Samuel, and finally got her little cowboy. She had the most rewarding job, she was a dedicated mother who stayed at home teaching her children to love the Lord. Virga had such a strong desire to attend church, so she found a small Evangelical Methodist church pastored by Vernon Mann. Sam and Virga became very close friends with Bro. Vernon and his wife Sis. Georgie. Bro. Vernon witnessed to them about the Message of the Hour and they were able to attend some of Bro. Branham’s meetings. In 1970, Sam and Virga moved their family to Tucson, Arizona. Virga was dedicated to the Lord and the Message. She often witnessed and shared it with others. Many have testified that her life was an example of a true believer and she was an instrument used to help them in surrendering to the Lord. She took every opportunity to show Christ’s love to all those around her. Her playful personality could light up the entire room and could put anyone at ease. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Harvey Samuel DeRossett; her sister, Reba Fairchild; her brother Billy Earl Lindsay; daughter, Victoria (Gordon) Phillips and son, David (Deborah) DeRossett; her 3 grandchildren: Elisabeth (Timothy) Clounch, Jessica (Bryan) VandenBosch, Benjamin (Jennifer) DeRossett; 6 great-grandchildren: Michael (Kelsey) Clounch, Benjamin DeRossett, Ashley VandeBosch, Andrew DeRossett, Ethan DeRossett, and Luke VandenBosch; and 2 great-great-grandchildren: Aubrey Clounch and Maddison Clounch.
Virga went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2015. Her earthly body was laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona, on February 6, 2015.
