Baxter Ralph Gann Sr., 92, of Soddy-Daisy, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, in a local hospital.
He was preceded in death by wife, Thelma Marie Mae Gann, and son, Donald Lee Gann.
Mr. Gann was an Army veteran of World War II, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service and numerous other medals for bravery. He was of the Church of God faith and was a member of Millwright Local #654.
Survivors include three sons, Baxter Ralph Gann Jr., Dayton, Ohio, Jim Gann Sr., Soddy-Daisy, Charles Lewis Gann, Soddy-Daisy; special friend, Ginger Heath, and her family; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wilburn Hardyman officiating.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. on Friday.
Interment in Dividing Ridge Cemetery.
