Mr. Noble Andrew Hardee is a descendant of Anthony Hardee and Evelyn Dulverton of Devonshire, England. (see: Sons of American Revolution, SAR 46364)

He was born to John and Sarah (Ellis) Hardee on the Plantation, Rural Felicity, located in Camden County, Georgia. He was the brother of Lieut. Gen W.J. Hardee, C.S.A, former commandant at West Point.

Mr. Noble Hardee was an attorney and business man. He owned two plantations; Oakland and Hardee, and also served in the House of Representatives from Camden County, Georgia.

In Savannah, Georgia, he was a cotton factor, and ran a successful company named, N.A. Hardee Company at what is now 128 Bay Street.

In the mid 1820's he married first, Martha Threewitts Williams of Milledgeville, and together they had two children; Ann Eliza, and John; both died in early childhood. Mrs. Martha Hardee died in childbirth during 1833.

For his second wife, he married in 1835 to Ann Margaret Lewis of Savannah, Georgia, and together they had three children whom lived to adulthood; John Lewis Hardee, Susan Ann Hardee Kirkland, and Mary Elizabeth Hardee King.

While on a recuperative visit to Richfield Springs, New York, Mr. Hardee died. His daughter accompanied the body home aboard the SS San Salvador, which arrived in Savannah, November 19th 1867. His funeral was held from the Independent Presbyterian Church on November 20th 1867.
