Alvin "Al" Roberts, 87, went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2015 after spending his life on earth in the service of his God, his country, his family and his fellowman. Al was born on April 7, 1927 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas to William Richard Roberts and Mary Florence Arnold Roberts. He graduated from Brinkman (OK) High School in 1945, and was inducted into the Army and served in Korea. On April 7, 1955 (his birthday), Al married his best friend, Margie Ann Davis Roberts. They made their home in Oklahoma City where they raised their three daughters and were surrounded with many family and friends. Al worked at the FAA until retiring in 1979. Upon retiring he operated his own air conditioning business. Al was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Lewis and Bill Roberts; and two sisters, Florence Berry and Betty Lou Spruce. Survivors included his wife Margie; three daughters, Sandra McKinley, Kathy Kendall and Susan Harris; four grandchildren, Brian Loveless, Alicia Severe, Ashley Holzhauer and Brittany Roderick; two great-granddaughters, Ruby and Maci Severe; two sisters, Judy Tarnow and Bertha Mae Britton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials were held Monday, 12 Jan 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at the Capitol Hill Assembly of God, 2400 SW 74th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Burial was at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma, at 11:00 a.m. on 13 Jan 2015.
