PFC Samuel E. Dick was a helicopter mechanic serving with the 162nd Attack Helicopter Company. Being deployed in a combat zone was very stressful on American service personnel, particularly during holidays, birthdays, and other days of observance. It was thought that this contributed to PFC Dick’s loss on Christmas Eve (December 24th) 1970, when he died at Can Tho Air Base in Vinh Long Province, RVN.
