"John W. McLaughlin, 59, Battle Creek, MI, native of Winamac, died Thursday morning at Leila Post Hospital, Battle Creek. He had been ill several months.
The son of George and Olive (Battison (sic)) McLaughlin, he was born Feb. 12, 1913 in Winamac. Mr. McLaughlin, married in 1942 to the Former Juanit (sic) Parks, left Pulaski County at the end of World War II. He was a real estate broker, a veteran of World War II, a charter member of the Winamac VFW, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, and a member of the Battle Creek board of realtors.
Survivors include the wife; his mother, Mrs. Olive McLaughlin, Winamac; a son, John Pattison McLaughlin, Grand Rapids, MI; a daughter, Michelle, at home and a sister, Mrs. Walter Zanger, Winamac.
Graveside services were held at St. Peter's cemetery Monday afternoon. The Rev. Paul Wohlwend officiated. The Winamac V.F.W. held military services. Kennedy Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements."
