Mettie Pearl Massingham, 70, a lifetime resident of Lewis County, died Tuesday at a Chehalis hospital.

She was born March 14, 1902, on a homestead in Cowlitz County.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Louise Rosbach, Portland; Mrs. Della Friese, Onalaska, and Mrs. Betty Ahrens and Mrs. Anita Smith, both of Woodland; four sons, Clarence, Carson, Calif.; William, Dexter, Ore.; Ernest, Chehalis, and Daniel, Fall Creek, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Alice Carter, Redding, Calif.; 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services at Brown Mortuary Service, Chehalis.
