Diane Anderson, 60, Wahpeton, ND passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015, at her daughter's residence, under the care of Hospice.

Diane was born on March 8, 1954 to Dennis and Esther (Schiltz) Bernard in Breckenridge, MN. She grew up in the Fairmount/Hankinson, ND area and graduated from Hankinson High School in 1972. She was united in marriage to Gordon Polda at St. Phillip's Catholic Church in Hankinson on March 31, 1973. While they were living in Lidgerwood, ND, Gordon passed away on March 24, 1979. Diane then moved her family of two children to Hankinson, where she was later united in marriage to Dick Anderson on December 1, 1979, until they parted ways in 2011.

Diane had a great work ethic that started at a young age. She worked many different jobs throughout her life. The most recent careers were with 3M/Imation in Wahpeton in 1989 and continued to work there until the plant closed in 2007. She then began working for the Rosholt Ethanol Plant for about a year, when she then started working for Hankinson Renewable Energy as a Quality Technician until September 2013 when she retired due to health reasons.

Diane was a member of River of Life Community Church and worked with the Sunday School program. She always liked to keep busy and had a wide variety of interests- like being an avid hunter, fishing, gardening, photography, and always wanting to be outside- to quilting, dancing, painting pictures, and working with stained glass. Her favorite place to be was camping with her family at Silver Lake, near Rutland, ND, and she cherished any time being spent with her grandchildren. Diane was a person who was a hard worker, had a golden heart, with a great smile, and put anybody else before herself and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Diane is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Polda; her son, Brian Polda; four grandchildren; her mother, Esther Bernard; her ten siblings, Sharon Freitag, Duffer Bernard, Lois Leinen, Steve Bernard, Al Bernard, Monica Olson, Randy Bernard, Jane Matejcek, Ray Bernard, Renae (Scott) Marthaler; a sister-in-law, Sandy Bernard, Fairmount; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Bernard, her first husband, Gordon Polda, and her brother, Rick Bernard.
