Early Life: Dwaine was born June 16, 1921, to Frank H. and Ella Aston Williams, in Vineyard, Utah, where he was also raised. He attended schools in Pleasant Grove and Orem, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1939.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: He joined the 145 Infantry Division in April of 1940 after the outbreak of World War II, and served with the 213th Field Artillery Division in the Western Pacific, receiving an honorable discharge October of 1945. On November 13, 1945, Dwaine married Lorraine Hansen, his high school sweetheart, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1995. He worked construction with United Construction Company on the aqueduct tunnel associated with Deer Creek Dam. He also worked for Oakland Construction. He went to work for Brigham Young University as supervisor of the carpenter shop in the Physical Plant facility. He retired August 31, 1983, after 24 years of service. He enjoyed his special high school "crowd" right up to the time of his passing. He was also an active member of the Utah Whistle Stops and Roadrunner Good Sam Chapters, making many dear friends. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was a high priest in the Windsor 1st Ward of Windsor Stake at the time of his death. Dwaine Francis Williams, 77, passed away Thursday, May 20, 1999, in American Fork, Utah.
Survived By: His wife, Lorraine; children: Lynn D. (Pat) Williams, Sharleen (Dick) Allen, Annella (Mike) Carter, and Tom (Carol) Williams. He leaves a legacy of 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Bernice (Alma) Hansen and a brother. Max K. (Trudy) Williams.
