Denton -- Johnny Lee "John" Anderson Jr., 39, passed away peacefully in Denton on Sunday, December 28, 2014, surrounded by his family and friends.

Interment: 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Kimball Bend Cemetery, Bosque County.

John was born on August 10, 1975 in Irving, TX. John's dream was to follow the same career path as his dad and granddad - law enforcement. John graduated from the Police Academy in October, 2002. John's first job was with the Denton County Sheriff Department. From there, John continued his career with the Seagoville Police Department. In 2004, John arrived at the City of Hickory Creek and he immediately knew he had found his home. John loved the city and people and quickly rose through the ranks to his current position of Sergeant. John's career at Hickory Creek included positions as lead Investigator as well as a member of the SWAT team. John was an excellent marksman with both pistol and rifle.

Survivors: Wife, Amy Anderson; mother, Susan Elmore and husband, Jess; father, Johnny Anderson and wife, Debbie; grandmother, Iva Lee Hancock; sons, Kirre Havens and Aiden Cooper; daughter, Emaline Cole; sister, Ashley Hale; and brothers, Will Elmore and Pattrick Tucker.
