John Dennis Shine, age 54, of Six Lakes passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Spectrum Health – Kelsey Campus. John was born on September 16, 1959 in Sheridan, Michigan, the son of Edward Duane and Rose Marie (Kleemen) Shine. He was raised in the Edmore area and attended the Montabella High School.

John was a member of the Little River Band of the Ottawa Indians of Manistee, Michigan. He enjoyed "monkeying around with cars," he loved to work in the woods, he enjoyed spending time with Mardi and enjoyed country and classic rock music.

John is survived by his mother, Rosie Shine of Edmore; brother, Steve (Adah) Shine of Evert; his nieces: Quinn Shine of Six Lakes, Angela Geer and April Marsh of Beaverton and his nephews: Jordon and Ethan Shine of Evert and Dylan Shine of Six Lakes. He was very fond of his great niece, "his pride and joy," Mardi Marie Townes of Six Lakes.

John was preceded in death by his father, Edward Shine and his brothers, Marty and Joseph Shine.

A funeral service has been scheduled for John on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel, 413 Gilson Street, Edmore with Pastor Dale Murray officiating. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (2 hours prior to the service). A spring interment will be in Vinewood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in John's memory may be made payable to the family to assist with burial expenses.
