British Actor. Ryall, whose stage, television and film career spanned six decades, will best be remembered for his role as Elphias Doge in the 2010 film, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1'. He began his career on the stage, joining Laurence Olivier’s company with the National Theatre at a young age, during which time he appeared in several plays, including 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead', 'Guys and Dolls', 'The Beggar’s Opera', 'Animal Farm', 'King Lear' and 'Twelfth Night'. Among films he had roles in were 'The Dance of Death' (1969), 'Black Joy' (1977), 'The Elephant Man' (1980), 'Jack the Ripper' (1988), 'The Woman in Black' (1989), 'Truly, Madly, Deeply' (1990), 'Black Beauty' (1994), 'Restoration' (1995), 'Unconditional Love' (2002), 'Around the World in 80 Days' (2004), 'City of Ember' (2008), 'Hysteria' (2011), 'Quartet' (2012) and 'Autómata' (2014). His television credits include 'The Village', 'The Singing Detective', 'House of Cards', 'Goodnight Sweetheart' and 'Midsomer Murders'. He also portrayed Prime Minister Winston Churchill on several occasions — in the television movies 'Bertie and Elizabeth', 'Two Men Went to War' and in the series 'Le grand Charles'.
