On October 25, 2003, Christopher was one of two civilian contractors working for the Central Intelligence Agency who was killed during an ambush. The region they were operating in is part of the remote mountainous region along the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan, where Osama bin Laden is thought to be hiding. It is also a stronghold for al-Qaida, Taliban and other anti-U.S. fighters. The officers, assigned to CIA's Directorate of Operations that conducts clandestine intelligence gathering and covert operations, died while tracking terrorists operating in the region. They were involved in a six-hour gunfight between Taliban rebels and U.S.-led coalition and Afghan forces. Christopher was a graduate of Victory Christian High School on Silver Lake, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin in 1991 and joined the Navy on October 22, 1991. In high school, he was not one that liked to do physical work. But after graduating, Christopher was known to do hundreds of sit-ups and push-ups at a time - part of a transformation that wasn't merely physical. He also went through significant changes that involved stabilizing his life in the military and strengthening his faith. He completed rigorous training becoming a Navy SEAL in 1994 and left the Navy three years later with a rank of gunners mate first class petty officer. His decorations included a Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. He received a degree from the University of California-San Diego's Revelle College in 2002 and that same year he went to work for the CIA as a civilian contractor. Christopher was a modest man who never would have considered himself a hero. He knew the risks of his current mission, yet he went because it is what he believed in. A memorial service was held at Elmbrook Church, Brookfield, Wisconsin. (Bio written by Brenda)

Note in flowers: For those who wish to know; we spread his ashes in his favorite surf spot in South Mission Beach, Ensenada Court, San Diego, CA 92109. He is in the upper part of this picture, in my heart and on my mind. There is also a plaque with his name on a bench at UCSD. I go and sit on this bench and: "have coffee with the Muellcat"--That was his nick-name here in San Diego."If I only could make a deal with God and get him to change our places; if I could, I would"Miss you, Kyle Mac Left by kmac on 10 Oct 2012
