Motion Picture and Television Producer, Actor. He will be best remembered for producing the TV programs "The Rifleman" (1958 to 1963) and "The Big Valley" (1965 to 1969). Born Arthur Goldberg, he moved to Hollywood to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Among one of his earliest roles was a minor part in "All Quiet on the Western Front" (1930). During World War II, he worked on training films with the United States Army under the direction of future US President Ronald Reagan. In 1952, he produced his first feature film "Without Warning!" and had further credits with "The Scalphunters" (1968), "Sam Whiskey" (1969), "White Lightning" (1973), "McQ" (1974) and "Brannigan" (1975).
