DECATUR - Doris DeWayne Allen, 72, of Decatur, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Zion.
Doris was born July 29, 1935, in Marshall, AR, the daughter of Verasnor Carlyle and Bessie Mae (Wallis) Massey. She worked as a hairdresser and was a member of the Oreana Christian Church. She loved to cook and do needle point.
She is survived by her children: John W. (wife, Cheryl) Allen of Rockton, Timothy C. (wife, Kathy) Allen of Argenta and Suzi (husband, Randy) Frey of Decatur; grandchildren: Kristin Busby, Julee Vingren, Jessika and John Allen, Jr., Jason, Caleb and Jenna Allen, CeCe, Ryle and Rayce Frey; great grandchildren: Hattie, Jack and Caroline Busby, Lily and Luke Vingren and Kolbi Rose Allen; brother, Ben (wife, Ruth) Massey of Sullivan; sister-in-law, Carrie Massey of Paxton; special niece, Peggy Righter and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Kelsey Lauren; brothers: Mose, V.C., Wally and Tony; and sister, Fern.
Memorial service will be 5 pm Saturday, December 8, 2007, in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. There will be no visitation and burial will take place at a later date.
