Mrs. Brockway was a prominent member of the community of Petoskey. She was a member of many civic and community organizations. Helen (Blondie) lived in a memorable home at the top of Howard Street hill on the corner of Emmet Street near the North Central Michigan College. Her husband Rolland was the founder and co-owner of Brock-Eckel Pharmacy. She was survived by her son Roland Morton Brockway, two daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her daughters went to Stephens College. That was quite the thing in the day when a college education was not common and colleges for girls was rare. Mrs. Townsend (Dorothy Brockway Townsend) is pictured in a 1947 article from the Petoskey Evening News right below her mothers obituary that appeared in the same newspaper. It can be viewed on the Greenwood Cemetery Websight in Petoskey. Mrs. Brockway's biography is forthcoming. Her obituary can be read at Petoskey's Greenwood Cemetery Genealogical Site: http://www.gwood.us/
