Roland "Brock" was a member of the legendary "Galster Hunting Club" founded by Portland Cement's John Galster. In addition, he belonged to many other civic and community organizations. Pictures of him in his youth are in a 1980s History of Harbor Springs. He and his wife Helen (Blondie) lived in a lovely home at the top of hill on the corner of Howard and Washington in Petoskey, Michigan. It had a historic log cabin in the back yard that was used as a playhouse. Roland was the founder and co-owner of Brock-Eckel Pharmacy. He was survived by his wife, son Roland Morton Brockway, two daughters, and several grandchildren.
