Eva M. Bose Fife, 93, of Delphi, Indiana , passed away April 1, 2007, at 5:40 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette. She had been a patient there for two days and in declining health the past three months.
Mrs. Fife was born Sept. 18, 1913, in Fairberry, Ill., to Fredrick and Ethel Peters Bose. She was a 1932 graduate of Monticello High School. Her marriage was to John L. Fife in Battle Ground on April 15, 1933. He preceded her in death in June 1974.
A homemaker, Mrs. Fife was a waitress at several Delphi restaurants and a bartender at Delphi VFW.
She was a member of Radnor United Methodist Church, Delphi and Monticello Senior Citizens, and Monticello VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed bingo, bowling, dancing, reading, playing Hearts card game and watching sports.
Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Jones (husband: Keith) of Flora; a son, James (wife: Charlotte) of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Fife was preceded in death by three infant children; a grandson, Stephen; an infant grandson, John; a daughter, Betty; a sister, Berniece; a brother, Emerline; and a great-great grandson, Ryland.
Services are today, Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi. The Rev. Ed Selvidge is officiating and burial is at I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Radnor United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
