Margaret Jean “GaGa” Akey, 92, of Zanesfield, passed away at her residence on Thursday, December 11, 2014.

She was born in West Mansfield on December 2, 1922 to the late Grover and Dale (McCauley) Hufford.

She is also preceded in death by a grandchild, Fred Steinhelfer.
Surviving is a son, John Timothy Steinhelfer of Zanesfield; grandchildren, Tim (Kelly) Steinhelfer and Bonnie (Steve) Forster, both of Bellefontaine; 10 great grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren, whom she enjoyed very much; special longtime friends, Sanath Carter, Lori Anderson and DeeDee Ricketts; and special caregiver, Nancy Stratton.

She worked at Security Federal for many years and later as a driver for TRC. In addition, she worked with her former husband in owning and operating Carl Akey & Associates.

She was a longtime member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed shopping at Macy’s, going out to dinner with the family, gathering together for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner and always taking care of everyone.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a 12:00 pm service on Monday, December 15 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Bellefontaine where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Huntsville Cemetery
