Burton G. Hooker, a former prominent Petoskey businessman entered into eternal rest on March 2, 2003, in Sun City, Arizonia, at the age of 89.

Mr. Hooker was an owner of Hooker's Laundry and Cleaners for many years and was remembered as a civic leader.

He was a veteran of foreign wars, serving aboard naval sub-chaser in World War II as chief petty officer. Mr. Hooker was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Charles and Effie Maud Hooker; brothers, Laverne and Kenneth' sister, Naomi Neihardt; and son Theodore Allen Hooker. He was survived by his wife, son, four grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
