James H. (Jim) Boyne, 70, of Marlette, passed away Friday, August 18, 2006 at his home in Marlette, Michigan.

He was born on January 25, 1936 in Marlette, Michigan the son of the late Neil and Elsie (Wiegert) Boyne.

He loved the Lord with all of his heart, soul and mind. He showed unfailing love and devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren. He always gave sound advice when asked and he would always stop what he was doing to help someone in need. He was as strong as an ox and had unsurpassable work ethics. He always had an uplifting comment or an encouraging word. He was content and at peace with himself and a faithful friend to many.

He lived and worked on the Choaki Centennial Farm as a dairy, beef and crop farmer his entire life in addition to working for Cass Valley Excavating. He was a 1954 Marlette graduate and class president for 4 years, and president of the FFA.

He served as Marlette School Board President for 16 years, and was a member of the Lamotte Missionary Church, Marlette.

Together with Darlene, they claim a wonderful family: Melodie and Gary Kondratek of Canton, Melissa and Mike Pinelli of Florida. Wes & Deb Boyne of Fort Gratiot, Wade and Kim Boyne of Marlette, Will and Terri Boyne of Colorado, Michelle Streeter of Georgia, Kurt and Amy Streeter of Mississippi, Jay Streeter of Marlette; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a brother, David and Linda Boyne of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carolyn.

We will cherish him always in our hearts.
