Lori Achberger, 37, of Bucyrus died from complications of a recently discovered heart condition on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

Anna Lorraine Taute was born August 26, 1977 in Morris, Illinois to Russell and Diana (Heltborg) Taute. The Taute family moved to Monrovia, California where Lori grew up, graduated from Monrovia High School in 1995 and Cal-Poly Pomona with a degree in Psychology. Lori married Roman Achberger, also from Monrovia, on June 9, 2000 and they later moved to Columbus where Roman attended his orthodontic residency at Ohio State. The Achbergers then moved to Bucyrus where Roman had purchased an Orthodontist practice.

As a child, when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, Lori always answered: "a mother." She loved children, from caring for dolls as a young child and trying to mother her baby brother, to babysitting starting at age 10. Lori volunteered in the church nursery and as a hospital candy striper. She was also a Brownie and Girl Scout. She even chose to study Psychology because she wanted to be with kids. Since arriving in Bucyrus, Lori worked as a full-time mother and ran the office at Achberger Orthodontics. A lifelong reader, she enjoyed participating in her book club and the mothers group and she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bucyrus. Lori also enjoyed growing flowers, collecting elephants and loved the color pink.

She will be remembered as a peacemaker, able to weigh both sides of an issue and help people come to an agreement; Lori always had a strong sense of justice. But mostly she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Lori is survived by her husband, Dr. Roman Achberger; two beautiful daughters, Savannah Rose and Meadow Lynn; her parents, Russell and Diana Taute; brothers, Allen Taute and wife Natalie, and Grant Taute and wife Julia; and her grandfather, Carl Taute. Her parents, brothers, and grandfather live in California.

Lori's funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 13 at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus with Pastor Don Neumann officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the service begins. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice through Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, OH 44820.
