Mr. Marvin Gilbert Burbage, 76, of 109 North Ninth Street, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham, after a four month illness.
A native of Moncks Corner, S.C., he was the husband of the late Mrs. Hazel LaRue "Lu" Burbage, and the son of the late Cedo Burbage and the late Molly Dangerfield Burbage. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, discharged March 15, 1948, and a retired woodworker. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Gilbert Burbage, Jr. of North Charleston, SC, Wayne Burbage of Ladson, SC; Samuel K. Burbage of Savannah, GA, Glenn Burbage and Grant Burbage, both of Ladson, SC; a daughter, Donna Ondrajka of Moncks Corner, SC; a stepdaugher, Diane A.(Randy) Kinley of Mebane; two stepsons, Jerry L.(Susie) Altman of Mebane and James H.(Debbie) Altman of Graham; a sister, Mrs. Florence Driggers of Goose Creek, SC; 29 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Eastside Baptist Church by the Reverend Chuck Perkins, pastor. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of Mr. Randy and Mrs. Diane Kinley, 2430 Mebane Oaks Road, Mebane, NC 27302.
