One of 12 children of John and Margaret (McLaughlin) Bailey, a farmer in Killyclooney, County Tyrone, Ireland, David was one of 2 who emigrated to the USA. Apprenticed and trained as an engraver/printer, he and his older brother Wm. George lived in Boston, Pittsburgh and Toledo. With his spouse, Rebecca Elizabeth Henrietta (nee Hamilton)whom he married in Ireland in 1905 and 2 children, Daveda Henrietta and John Hamilton (McLaughlin) Bailey became nautralized US citizens in 1918 having emigrated to the US in 1910. Both children graduated from the University of Toledo. The daughter, Daveda, never married and is buried in the Bailey plot at Toledo Memorial Park Sylvania Ohio with her parents. The son John married and moved to Michigan in 1946 and died there in 1987 and with his spouse, Margaret (Mennel) is buried in the Marengo Memorial Cemetery Calhoun County Michigan
