Dr. Ronnie B Davis, 60, of Villa Rica, Ga, passed away on Tuesday, December 2nd 2014.
The family will hold visitation from 4:00 until 8:00 on Wednesday and Thursday, December 3rd and 4th at Bellamy Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 on Friday, December 5th at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Hiram, Georgia.
Ronnie was born on May 21st, 1954 in Lafayette, Alabama to Lonnie and Edna Davis. He was a graduate of Auburn University in 1975, 1977, 1983, and again in 2000, when he earned the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Music Education. He was band director for nineteen years at Paulding County High School, and for twelve years at Hiram High School. He was a Deacon and Music Minister at New Georgia Baptist Church, and then at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Ronnie was a son, a father, a husband, a grandfather, a friend, a teacher, a hunting partner, an aviator, a counselor in times of distress, a care-taker in times of need, a selfless provider, and a true Man of God. The world is better for having had him in it, and we are all better people for having known him, having loved him, and having been loved by him. He is survived by his mother, Edna Davis, his wife, Gloria Davis, his daughter, Maryssa Davis, his son, Stephen Davis, his daughter-in-law, Erica Davis, his granddaughter, Amelia Mae Davis, and his close cousin, Jane, whom he often introduced as his sister, and her husband Jimmy Kenney.
