Mrs. Hewitt died Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Born April 14, 1913 in Rockingham, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles Manning Furman, Jr., and Ina Jones Furman. She was a member of First Baptist Churches of Greenville and Columbia. Surviving are her sons, T. Furman Hewitt (Donna) of Easley, Richard F. Hewitt (Annetta) of Greenville; grandchildren, Rick Hewitt (Amelia), Tom Hewitt (Ashley), Jay Hewitt (Anna), Camille Adams (Ben), Kimberly Saccone (Jim); and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nephews and nieces: Charlie and Robert Furman; Jim, Joan and John Furman; James and Richard Furman; Nell Neunhoffer; Larry Griffin, Susan G. Green; and sister-in-law, Alma Furman.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Howard Hewitt; and brothers, Charles, Henry, and Alester Furman. -
